Relocation actions for homeless persons (FRANCE).
Objective : To help very isolated homeless persons, thanks to actions of relocations.
Location of the action : DOWNTOWN of NANTES , FRANCE.
Means and resources deployed :
December 2016 – January 2017 : During the 2016 winter, one of our Teams of volunteers of our Association was among very isolated homeless persons, living in the streets for many years, in emergency cases because of a severe cold (- 5 degrees Celsius) , and looked for a furnished studio.
Specific Relocation Action of a very isolated homeless person, Jean, 44 years old, living in the street for 7 years. We found out for him a furnished studio. We spent a good time with him to better know him, without judging him. In addition to food aid and new warm clothes, we offered him a CD player, CD’s of Coluche, CD’s of French singer Serge Gainsbourg and CD’s of French singer Renaud.
The European Observatory for Non-Discrimination and Fundamental Rights (E.O.N.D.F.R.) has developed an extensive and in-depth expertise in the field of relocation actions for homeless persons.
Field for intervention targeted by the European Commission : Europe 2020 Strategy. European Platform against Poverty and Social Exclusion.
